Medical College of Georgia (MCG) Health Sciences University

In 1828 the Medical Academy of Georgia was chartered by the State of Georgia with plans to offer a single course of lectures leading to Bachelor's degree. Now the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) Schools of Allied Health Sciences, Dentistry, Graduate Studies, Medicine and Nursing provide the full gamut of biomedical instruction to health sciences students. The School of Dentistry offers the Doctor of Dental Medicine Program (DMD) and seven advanced education programs. The advanced education programs are designed to provide a superior level of clinical skill with an in-depth knowledge of the biological and clinical sciences applicable to the discipline. 

Forms of Collaboration

Graduating MIU Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine students who successfully complete courses taught by MCG professors receive a certificate signed by the dean of MCG School of Dentistry.

The certificate attests that the graduating student has passed courses taught and evaluated by visiting professors from the MCG School of Dentistry, as part of MIU Bachelor degree in Oral and Dental Medicine.



Curriculum Development Program (IOP03): Applicable to Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine only.

Faculty Exchange Program (IOP04): Participating Faculty is Oral and Dental Medicine only. Several Courses were taught by Dr. Daniel Chan,Dr. Mohamed Sharawy, and Dr. George Hall, distinguished visitng professors of Medical College of Georgia, School of Dentistry 

Staff Advancement Program (IOP07):Several Training sessions and seminars were held for MIU Oral and Dental Medicine faculty.

State University of New York (SUNY) Cobleskill

The State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Cobleskill is a fully accredited, comprehensive undergraduate residential college.

Academic programs are divided into three schools: The School of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the school of Business, and The School of Liberal Arts and Sciences Business and computer technologies division students use a level of computer technology that is consistent with the industry and expected by employers.

On the job internship result in a job offer 97 percent of the time. Just 35 miles west of Albany, students have easy access to educational, cultural and recreational resources, New York's Tech Valley, the Adirondacks, the Catskill Mountains  and Cooperstown.

The University of Georgia (UGA)

Founded in January 27, 1785, by the Georgia General Assembly, UGA is the first state-chartered university in America. It is located in Athens, Georgia (Clarke County), about 60 miles northeast of down-town Atlanta. It has one of the largest and most comprehensive public service and outreach programs conducted by an American educational institution. It presents the annual Delta Prize for Global Understanding, which recognizes individuals or groups whose initiative promote peace and cooperation among cultures and nations. It ranks 10th nationally in the number of students studying abroad.

The University of Georgia (UGA) College of Pharmacy offers the Doctor of Pharmacy professional degree. The university together with the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta admits about 125 students a year. The four-year professional program integrates classroom, laboratory and experimental training in a curriculum organized around both human physiology and disease states. The college also offers graduate studies in disciplines associated with pharmacotherapeutic research, clinical work, and administration.

Graduating MIU Pharmacy students who successfully complete courses taught by UGA professors receive a certificate signed by the dean of UGA College of Pharmacy.

The certificate attests that the graduating student has passed courses taught and evaluated by professors from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy, as part of MIU bachelor degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences.


Faculty Exchange Program (IOP04):
Participating faculties: Faculty of Pharmacy.
Seven visits took place so far. Dr. Joseph T. Dipiro, Dr. Russel May, Dr. Richard Shields and Dr. Greene Shepherd, and Dr. Kalen Porter were among the visiting professors from UGA. MIU hosts professors from UGA or other renowned universities recommended by UGA to deliver courses at MIU each semester. Among those professors were Dr. Terry L. Schwinghammer from the University of Pittsburgh and Dr. James Tisdale from the University of Purdue.

Staff Advancement Program (IOP07): Several training sessions and seminars were held for MIU Pharmacy staff and MIU graduates. A number of teaching assistants spent research traning during the summer at the University clinics and hospitals

The University of Mississippi (UM)

The University of Mississippi, also known as Ole Miss, is proud of its history of academic achievement. It ranks as one of the top 10 U.S. public universities in the nation, graduating Rhodes Scholars. Founded in 1844, The University of Mississippi has over 13,000 students enrolled.

Major University research facilities include the Whitten National Center for Physical Acoustics, the Center for Computational Hydro Science and Engineering, the National Center for the Development of Natural Products, the Center for Water and Wetlands Resources, and the Center for Marine Resources and Environmental Technology.

The Electrical Engineering Department has one of the largest active faculties in electromagnetics in the nation.

Graduating MIU Engineering students who successfully complete courses taught by the University of Mississippi professors will receive a certificate signed by the dean of the School of Engineering, University of Mississippi, indicating that University of Mississippi professors participated in teaching classes to these particular students.

Winona State University

Winona State University, part of the Minnesota State University system is located on the banks of the Mississippi River. The area surrounding the University is filled with greenery, lakes, rivers, abundant parks and nature trails. Sports and outdoor recreational activities are part of the daily life of most students and many area residents. With a long and proud legacy, Winona State was founded in 1858 and offers over 80 major fields of study.

300 international students from 48 countries call Winona State University their home away from home. Most international students who attend WSU receive the cross cultural scholarship which allows students to pay at the resident rate of tuition instead of the non resident rate.

As part of the scholarship program, students are especially encouraged to join with friends from around the world to teach children, college students and other Americans about the countries from which they come.
